What happens at my first visit to Yaan Clinic?

Yaan Clinic, in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, emphasizes 1:1 consultation and thorough analysis rather than "factory-style" care. Knowing what to expect helps you make the most of a short trip. Below is a typical first-visit flow; your own visit may vary depending on the treatment.

What is the step-by-step process?

Most first visits follow six steps: check-in, a medical questionnaire, skin analysis, doctor consultation, treatment if suitable, and aftercare instructions. The order can change for body treatments or if you only want a consultation.

  1. Check-in at the Welcome Lounge – reception is on the first floor, with private consultation rooms. Bring your passport for identification.
  2. Medical questionnaire – share your medical history, medications, allergies and previous treatments. Your interpreter can help with any questions.
  3. Consultation & Meta-Vu skin analysis – for many face treatments, a 3D Meta-Vu scan maps pores, wrinkles, texture and pigmentation, giving the doctor objective data to plan with.
  4. Doctor consultation – a doctor examines your skin, discusses your goals, explains suitable options and their risks, and gives you a quote.
  5. Treatment – if you and your doctor agree, treatment may take place the same day in the relevant lounge, for example the Petit and Laser Lounge or a VIP room.
  6. Aftercare – many treatments are followed by LDM Recovery Therapy, and you receive aftercare instructions, including advice on activities and flying.

What is a Meta-Vu skin analysis?

Meta-Vu is a 3D skin analysis system that measures pores, wrinkles, texture and pigmentation. Yaan Clinic uses it to design treatment, for example to decide which areas need more energy during lifting, and it is included in the clinic's published VIP packages.

Because the scan is objective and repeatable, it gives you and your doctor a baseline. On lifting treatments such as Titanium Lifting and TuneFace, Yaan Clinic describes using Meta-Vu for 1:1 design with area-specific energy settings.

Will an interpreter be with me?

Yes. Yaan Clinic has dedicated interpreters in English and Chinese, and multilingual coordinators who support you from consultation through to recovery. This means you can ask questions and understand your consent and aftercare clearly.

If you prefer another language, tell the team when you book. Read more on language support.

Who will perform my treatment?

Treatments at Yaan Clinic are performed by the clinic's own dedicated doctors, with no substitute practitioners. The clinic carries treatment liability insurance. The founder and chief doctor is Dr. Wontak Choi.

The medical team includes doctors with backgrounds in plastic surgery, obesity medicine and aesthetic and laser medicine. For example, Dr. Yoonsik Sung is a specialist plastic surgeon. Meet everyone on our doctors page.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring your passport, a list of your medications and any records of previous cosmetic procedures. Come without heavy makeup if possible, and wear comfortable clothing, especially for body treatments.

Bring Why it helps
Passport Identification at check-in
Medication list Some medicines, such as blood thinners, affect bruising and treatment choice
Records of past procedures Fillers, threads, toxin or lasers change what is safe and suitable
Travel dates Your doctor considers downtime and flight timing
Payment card Payment is made at the clinic after you agree to a plan
Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen Useful after laser and some lifting treatments

For international patients: If you are coming straight from the airport, you can bring your luggage. Share your estimated arrival time so the team can plan around immigration and traffic.

How does Yaan Clinic keep treatments safe?

Yaan Clinic states a "genuine products, correct dosage" policy and uses safety tools such as blunt cannulas, an AccuVein infrared vein finder for fillers, a patented skin protector and AirNox for pain care. Several brands can be verified for authenticity.

Examples include Thermage device and tip serial numbers you can check, Rejuran product verification, Sculptra genuine-product certification and miraDry certificates. See genuine products and safety for details.

Good to know: A consultation does not commit you to treatment. If your doctor feels a treatment is not suitable for you, or not suitable before a flight, they will tell you.

What happens after my first visit?

You leave with aftercare instructions and, if needed, a plan for follow-up sessions. Your coordinator remains reachable on WhatsApp at +82 10 5308 0499 for questions during your stay and after you go home.

If you plan more sessions, see the treatment trip planner, and check downtime and flying home before you book your return flight. For a full list of options, browse our cosmetic treatments or return to the Foreigners Guide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a first consultation take?

Yaan Clinic does not publish a fixed consultation length. Time depends on how many concerns you discuss and whether you have a Meta-Vu scan or treatment the same day. Ask your coordinator to estimate the total time so you can plan the rest of your day.

Can I have treatment on the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes, which helps international patients on short trips. Your doctor decides whether same-day treatment is suitable after reviewing your skin, medical history and travel plans. Mention your preference when you book.

Is the Meta-Vu skin analysis included?

Meta-Vu 3D skin analysis is included in Yaan Clinic's published VIP packages and is used to design many lifting treatments. On its own, it is listed at 100,000 KRW on Yaan's price list. Whether it applies to your visit depends on your treatment, so ask your coordinator when booking.

Should I come without makeup?

It helps to arrive with little or no makeup for face consultations and skin analysis, so the doctor can see your skin clearly. If you come straight from the airport, the clinic can usually give you time to cleanse before your assessment.

Do I have to decide on treatment at the consultation?

No. A consultation does not commit you to any treatment. You can take time to think, ask more questions through your interpreter, or contact the team later on WhatsApp at +82 10 5308 0499.
