Korean Lifting Treatments Compared

Yaan Clinic · Gangnam, Seoul

Korean lifting treatments such as Ultherapy, Thermage, Titanium, TuneFace, Sofwave, ONDA, Oligio, Ulfit and Shurink use ultrasound, radiofrequency, laser or microwave heat to tighten skin without surgery. Each works at a different depth and suits a different concern. Yaan Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul uses all nine, so this guide compares them side by side.

Korean lifting treatments are non-surgical energy-based procedures, such as Ultherapy, Thermage, Titanium, TuneFace, Sofwave, ONDA, Oligio, Ulfit and Shurink, that use ultrasound, radiofrequency, laser or microwave heat to tighten skin and stimulate collagen. At Yaan Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, all of these devices are in use under one roof, so this guide compares them using the clinic's own published information.

Which Korean lifting treatment is best?

There is no single best lifting treatment. The right choice depends on whether your main issue is deep sagging, loose or crepey skin, facial fat, or body laxity. Ultrasound treatments generally lift deeper layers, while RF and laser treatments tighten the skin itself.

Yaan Clinic's lifting FAQ makes the same point: age matters less than the type of skin aging and facial structure, the device is chosen by primary concern (elasticity vs sagging vs contour), and combining lifts helps some people but not everyone. Multiple devices can be discussed in one consultation. Your doctor will confirm what suits you.

How do the main Korean lifting devices compare?

This table compares the nine lifting devices at Yaan Clinic by energy type, depth and best use. Depths and details come from Yaan's published pages; anything not published is left out rather than guessed.

What are ultrasound (HIFU) lifting treatments?

Ultrasound lifts focus sound energy beneath the skin to create heat that contracts and rebuilds collagen. At Yaan these are Ultherapy Prime, Sofwave, Shurink Universe and Ulfit, each working at different depths.

  • Ultherapy Prime – the deepest facial option, reaching the SMAS at 4.5 mm with real-time imaging. Yaan states results last up to a year and runs two units. Yaan's Ulthera Fit adds Tune Liner and LDM.
  • Sofwave – treats the mid-dermis at 1.5 mm across a wide area for fine lines and firmness. Offered as Sofwave Fit with Tune Liner or ONDA plus LDM.
  • Shurink Universe – a HIFU device that treats multiple depths; listed in Yaan's equipment.
  • Ulfit – body HIFU for loose skin, priced at 50,000 KRW per 100 shots (minimum 600, VAT excluded).

What are radiofrequency (RF) lifting treatments?

RF lifts heat the dermis with electrical energy, tightening existing collagen and prompting new growth. At Yaan these are Thermage FLX, TuneFace and Oligio, plus Exilis inside Dual Titanium.

  • Thermage FLX – 4th-generation monopolar RF, FDA and MFDS approved, with a published timeline to 12 months. Yaan runs two units and lets patients verify tip serial numbers.
  • TuneFace – Alma's Accent Prime with 40.68 MHz RF and ultrasound; Tune Blue, Tune Red and Tune Liner applicators.
  • Oligio – monopolar-type RF that heats tissue to 40–60°C, with vibration to reduce discomfort and real-time cooling; Yaan says it can be done without anesthesia. Yaan is an Oligio Partner Clinic.

What about laser and microwave lifting?

Titanium is a laser lift using three wavelengths, and ONDA uses microwave energy. Titanium focuses on facial contour and skin quality; ONDA also reduces fat on the face and body.

Yaan's Dual Titanium program combines the Alma Titanium laser with Exilis RF and LDM, and is trademark registered; Yaan reports over 25 million Titanium pulses delivered. ONDA uses patented 7 mm and 3 mm handpieces with built-in cooling, has no downtime, and can treat face and body on the same day if appropriate.

Which lifting treatment suits my concern?

Start from your main concern. Deep sagging usually points to Ultherapy, loose skin to Thermage, fine lines to Sofwave, lower-face contour to TuneFace or Titanium, and fat with laxity to ONDA.

Main concern Often considered Concern guide
Jowls, heavy lower face Ultherapy Prime, Titanium Sagging skin & jowls
Fine lines, crepey skin Sofwave, Thermage FLX Wrinkles & fine lines
Neck lines Sofwave Neck lines
Double chin Ulthera Fit, TuneFace with Tune Liner, ONDA Double chin treatment
Wanting gentle, comfortable RF Oligio, TuneFace —
Loose body skin Ulfit, Body ONDA —

Should I combine lifting treatments?

Combining can help when you have more than one concern, for example deep sagging plus loose skin, because each device works at a different layer. Yaan notes combinations help some patients but not everyone.

Yaan already builds several combinations into its programs: Dual Titanium, Ulthera Fit and Sofwave Fit. LDM Recovery Therapy is used as aftercare across most lifting programs to calm heated skin. Head-to-head comparisons of Thermage vs Ultherapy and Sofwave vs Ultherapy are linked below.

Good to know: Energy-based lifting does not replace surgery for advanced sagging, and results vary. These treatments are generally avoided during pregnancy and over active skin infection. Your doctor will confirm suitability.

For international patients: Most energy-based lifts have little downtime, so 1–3 days in Seoul is usually enough. Book via WhatsApp at +82 10 5308 0499 and use the treatment trip planner to fit treatments around flights.

Frequently asked questions

What is the most popular lifting treatment in Korea?

Ultherapy and Thermage are among the best-known lifting treatments in Korea, alongside newer options such as Titanium, Sofwave and TuneFace. Popularity is not the same as suitability, so Yaan Clinic recommends a device based on your skin and main concern.

Which Korean lifting treatment has the least downtime?

Most energy-based lifts have little downtime. Yaan describes ONDA and Ulfit as allowing daily activities right away and Sofwave as having little to none. Temporary redness or swelling can follow any heat-based treatment.

Which lifting is best for a double chin?

Options at Yaan include Ulthera Fit (Ultherapy Prime with Tune Liner and LDM), TuneFace with Tune Liner, ONDA, and the Double-Chin Package combining Tune Liner with fat-dissolving injection. Your doctor chooses based on fat versus laxity.

Is Titanium lifting better than Ultherapy?

They work differently. Titanium uses three laser wavelengths for contour, elasticity and tone, while Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to lift deeper layers including the SMAS. Yaan says the two can be combined when appropriate.

Can I try several lifting treatments in one trip?

Several devices can be discussed in one consultation, and Yaan's own programs already combine treatments. Whether multiple lifts in one trip make sense depends on your skin and goals, and your doctor will advise on timing.

Do international patients pay more for lifting in Seoul?

Not at Yaan Clinic. The clinic states that international patients pay the same price as Korean patients, with no hidden fees. Its 2026 guide prices range from ₩390,000 (Shurink 300 shots) to ₩1,690,000 (Thermage FLX 300 shots), and the cosmetic VAT refund for foreigners ended on 1 January 2026.
