What is Silhouette Soft?

Silhouette Soft is a US FDA-cleared resorbable suspension suture made by Sinclair. Its threads carry small bidirectional cones that grip tissue and lift it into a new position, while the PLLA material gradually stimulates the skin's own collagen.

Because the cones face in two directions along the thread, they anchor tissue from both sides once the thread is placed under the skin, creating a lift without cutting or stitching. Over time the thread dissolves naturally. The PLLA it is made from is the same family of material used in collagen-stimulating injectables such as Sculptra, which is why Silhouette Soft is described as both lifting and regenerating.

Why does Yaan combine Silhouette Soft with PDO threads?

Yaan pairs Silhouette Soft with PDO double-cog "Apple Lifting" threads so that Silhouette Soft provides the main suspension and PDO threads add support and fine contour definition. The aim is a fully customized lift using no more threads than needed.

PDO (polydioxanone) is a different absorbable material with cogs that hold tissue. Combining the two allows the doctor to lift heavier areas such as jowls with Silhouette Soft while refining contours with PDO. What is recovery like after Silhouette Soft?

Most people return to work and daily activities right away. Temporary swelling or bruising can occur and usually fades within days to a couple of weeks, depending on the person and the number of threads.

Typical general advice after thread lifting includes avoiding wide mouth opening, facial massage, saunas and intense exercise for a short period, and sleeping on your back for the first nights. Your doctor will give specific instructions. A mild feeling of tightness is common as tissues settle.

Will my face look natural after a thread lift?
