What is TuneFace lifting?
TuneFace is a radiofrequency lifting treatment that uses the Accent Prime platform by Alma Lasers to heat the deeper skin and stimulate collagen. Yaan's tagline for it is "the frequency that stops the clock of aging."
The device emits unipolar RF at 40.68 MHz. This frequency makes water molecules in the tissue rotate rapidly, and since water makes up more than 70% of the skin, the friction produces heat evenly through the treated layer. That controlled heat encourages collagen contraction and regeneration, which over time supports firmer, more lifted skin. Accent Prime also uses ultrasound, and Yaan notes the device carries US FDA clearance (2017, per Yaan's equipment list).
Yaan Clinic operates the latest 2022 model and is an Alma Elite Club partner, with academic exchange with Alma staff in Israel. TuneFace sits within Yaan's broader skin tightening program.
Which TuneFace applicators does Yaan use?
Yaan uses three Accent Prime applicators: Tune Blue for the lower face, Tune Red for the narrow eye and mouth areas, and Tune Liner, a 3D ultrasound applicator aimed at fat breakdown in areas like the double chin.
| Applicator | Energy | Main target areas | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tune Blue (TuneFace) | Unipolar RF, 40.68 MHz | Lower face, cheeks, jawline, nasolabial folds | Tightening and contour |
| Tune Red (Tune Periorbital) | RF with a narrow tip | Around the eyes and mouth | Fine lines and laxity in delicate zones |
| Tune Liner | 3D ultrasound | Double chin, buccal fat areas | Fat breakdown and contour definition |
Tune Liner also appears in other Yaan programs, such as Ulthera Fit and the Double-Chin Package with fat-dissolving injection. See double chin treatment for details.
How does TuneFace feel and keep the skin safe?
TuneFace uses dual cooling to keep the skin surface at around 42–44°C while heat builds underneath. Most people feel deep warmth during the treatment; your doctor adjusts energy to your comfort and skin type.
Energy is planned in kilojoules (kJ) for each area. Yaan's packages, for example, list TuneFace at 60kJ or 40kJ. Planning by area allows more energy where tightening is needed and less where volume should be kept.
Who is a good candidate for TuneFace?
TuneFace suits people with early to moderate loss of elasticity, a softening jawline, or laxity around the cheeks, nasolabial folds, eyes and mouth. It is chosen by people who want firmer contours without needles or incisions.
- Sagging lower face – jawline and cheeks that have started to drop.
- Little facial fat – Yaan says TuneFace can still be used, with energy adjusted to avoid the mid-cheek volume you want to keep.
- Fuller lower face – Tune Liner may be added to address buccal fat or a double chin.
- Sensitive skin – assessed first; tell your doctor about inflamed, irritated or heat-sensitive skin and recent treatments.
Whether a face could look hollower depends on your fat, skin thickness and settings, which is why Yaan designs each plan individually. For general guidance on lower-face laxity, read sagging skin and jowls.
Good to know: Radiofrequency is usually avoided during pregnancy, over active skin infection, and in people with pacemakers or certain metal implants in the treatment area. Your doctor will confirm suitability at consultation.
What happens during a TuneFace session?
A session at Yaan starts with consultation and 3D Meta-vu analysis, then an area-by-area energy plan, the RF treatment itself, and LDM Recovery Therapy to calm the skin before you leave.
- Consultation & Meta-Vu skin analysis – A doctor reviews your concerns and a 3D scan of your skin and contours.
- 1:1 design – Energy (kJ) and applicators are chosen for each area based on face shape.
- TuneFace treatment – Tune Blue, Tune Red and, if planned, Tune Liner are applied.
- LDM Recovery Therapy – Ultrasound aftercare to soothe heat-treated skin.
Both male and female directors at Yaan perform the treatment directly. You can learn more about the team on our doctors page.
Is there downtime after TuneFace?
Downtime is usually minimal. Temporary redness, warmth or faint marks may appear and generally settle on their own, so most people resume normal plans the same day.
Because collagen builds over time and short-lived redness is possible, Yaan recommends scheduling TuneFace well ahead of important events rather than the day before. Avoid saunas, hot baths and intense exercise for a short period, and use sunscreen. Results and maintenance timing vary by person and are confirmed at consultation.
TuneFace vs Titanium, Thermage and Ultherapy
TuneFace uses RF plus ultrasound with a focus on lower-face contour, Titanium uses three-wavelength laser heat, Thermage uses monopolar RF for deep-dermis tightening, and Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound for the SMAS layer.
| Feature | TuneFace | Titanium | Thermage FLX | Ultherapy Prime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Energy | 40.68 MHz RF + ultrasound | 755/810/1064 nm laser | Monopolar RF | Micro-focused ultrasound |
| Typical focus | Lower face, jawline, eyes, mouth | Contour, elasticity, tone | Laxity and fine wrinkles | Deep structural lift |
| Fat-targeting option | Tune Liner | No (not fat reduction) | No | Paired with Tune Liner in Ulthera Fit |

Frequently asked questions
Is TuneFace the same as Accent Prime?
TuneFace is the lifting treatment performed with Alma's Accent Prime device. Accent Prime is the platform, and TuneFace (Tune Blue) is its lower-face RF applicator. Yaan also uses Tune Red for the eye and mouth areas and Tune Liner for fat-targeted contouring.
Can TuneFace be done if I have very little face fat?
Yes. Yaan Clinic says TuneFace can be performed on faces with little fat by adjusting energy and avoiding the mid-cheek area where volume should be preserved. Your doctor plans settings after reviewing your 3D Meta-vu analysis.
Does TuneFace hurt?
Most people feel deep warmth rather than sharp pain. Dual cooling keeps the skin surface around 42 to 44°C while tissue below is heated. Comfort varies, and your doctor can adjust energy during treatment.
What are the side effects of TuneFace?
Temporary redness, warmth or faint marks can occur and usually settle without treatment. Yaan provides LDM Recovery Therapy as aftercare. Tell your doctor in advance if your skin is inflamed, irritated or sensitive to heat.
When should I have TuneFace before an event?
Yaan recommends planning TuneFace ahead of important events rather than right before them, because short-lived redness is possible and collagen builds gradually. Ask your doctor for timing that fits your schedule.
